Radar is used all over the world by just about every Police Department, County Police, State Police etc. I will try not to get to technical here. There is basically 3 types of radar. X Band, K Band, Ka Band. So what does this mean? Well X band was one of first bands ever developed back in the early 60’s. It is actually still around today but almost non existent. It’s old, it’s large and such newer and better technology has come out. So, we move on to K band. K band is still alive and well and used in a lot of cities. K band has been around for many years. Then we move to the newer band of Ka. Ka come out in the 90’s. It is a smaller antenna in the police car and almost all larger cities have moved to the ka band. So, what does band mean? Band is just the range. X covers a certain range of frequencies as does the K band and Ka band. Only Ka band only has about 3 frequencies.
X BAND: Not used much if at all anymore. Newer radar detectors in the near future may no longer even offer X band detection.
K BAND: Still widely used.
KA BAND: This is the newer of the radar band. Ka is usually found in Large to even small departments.
What does all this mean? It means that you can get a speeding ticket real easy. Tickets are written every day by the thousands. If you are a speeder and you do not have a radar detector it is only a matter of time before you get caught speeding.

Laser is actually my personal favorite. I love laser! Why? Because unlike radar you can JAM LASER!!!
That is right. In most states it is perfectly legal to jam a police laser gun. If you have gone through our site already you will see that. So what is Laser? It is every persons worst enemy. Radar is like shooting a shotgun. When it is on the officer picks up speeds from lots of vehicles on one display. He has to determine which vehicle is speeding and pull them over. With Laser it is much different. The officer must not be moving. He has to be completely still. Using laser is like using a sniper rifle. The officer will normally stand outside his car or look through the window of his car and point the laser gun out the window.

The officer will look through the scope of the gun and aim the dot on the car and pull the trigger. In less than .03 seconds the officer gets a reading. What do you need to get to help keep yourself from getting a ticket? This is an easy answer but then again it is not. But in easy terms you need just 2 things. A good radar detector and a good laser detecor/jammer.
